On 7 October 2022, startupers and management of Siberian Federal University held a meeting at Истории student restaurant. Young entrepreneurs spoke about the technological projects that they are implementing, and also offered their ideas for the development of the university’s campus. The business breakfast was organized within the framework of the Platform of University Technological Entrepreneurship federal project and the Startup Academy of the Gastronomic R&D Park strategic project.

The main purpose of the meeting is an opportunity to discuss advertising and information support for startups, the participation of the university and its strategic partners in the implementation of student projects. SibFU Rector Maksim Rumiantsev and vice-rectors in charge of information and youth policy, youth entrepreneurship and the financial and economic block also took part in the business breakfast.

“The student plays a key role in the philosophy of the university. We would like the university to give maximum opportunities to its students. The university should offer something more than good dormitories, sports infrastructure, and so on. The most important thing now is to design opportunities for the technological creativity of our students,” said SibFU Rector.

Eight teams of young entrepreneurs presented their projects — these are students who are planning on starting their own business even before their graduation and the winners of the Student Startup contest. The students’ offers included development of an application for restoring speech of patients with motor aphasia, the Goodhands pet marketplace, and development of a software and hardware complex for overalls.

The format of business breakfast was especially convenient for start-ups related to the restaurant business, since the authors were able not only to talk about their idea but also to conduct a tasting of dishes. For example, students of the School of Gastronomy presented Chel food outlet, where students can buy balanced combo sets for lunch. According to the project participants, their main task is to change the food culture on campus.

“We have noticed that even during a long break, students do not always have time to eat in cafeterias due to large queues. Therefore, our priority is quick service. At the same time, our dishes will still have to be tasty and healthy,” shared Maxim Semena, fourth-year student of the School of Gastronomy of Siberian Federal University.
