Siberian Federal University: SibFU at the International Exhibition in Uzbekistan
Siberian Federal University has taken part in the Russian Education — Tashkent 2022, an International Exhibition-Fair held on 22–24 September 2022 in Uzbekistan with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo. The priority goal of the fair is to demonstrate the achievements in the field of Russian higher education and the formation of a single informational and educational space of the CIS.
Graduates of schools and universities of Uzbekistan learned about the educational programs implemented at SibFU, and were especially interested in such areas as IT, economics, and management. More than 100 high school students interested in entering SibFU shared their contacts.
Akmal Dzhumaev, the leading specialist at the Central Asian sector, Siberian Federal University, answered all questions regarding the rules of admission, accommodation, education, scholarships, adaptation programs, and extra-curricular life at SibFU.
“Our relations with Uzbekistan are actively developing. In 2022, we signed several cooperation agreements with the universities of Tashkent. This year we began to visit schools in different cities of this country in spring and held presentations there, and at the Summer University program, the largest delegation to study at SibFU arrived from Uzbekistan. Our goal is to increase the number of students from this republic several times since Russia and Uzbekistan have close contacts in almost all areas of the economy. Navoy Student Union helps us with this — the guys are very bright and active, they help the new comers to adapt,” said Anna Mezit, head of the Department for International Cooperation.
Within the framework of the educational exhibition-fair, the participants held a number of business meetings which made it possible to establish new contacts and reach agreements on the prospects for cooperation in the educational and scientific fields. In particular, the Russian Cultural Centre of Uzbekistan is ready to cooperate and sign an agreement with SibFU. In addition, an agreement was reached on closer cooperation with the training centre which prepares high school students for university-level admission tests.
