Rice University: WalletHub ranks Rice among nation’s top 10 universities

Rice is No. 7 in the financial publication’s rankings of the best universities across the nation and the No. 1 university in Texas.

WalletHub says its researchers compiled data for the latest edition of its annual rankings by comparing 821 universities in seven areas, such as cost, faculty resources and campus safety. The publication says it also analyzed post-attendance metrics, such as the student loan default rate and how many former students earned more than high school graduates.

Rice consistently ranks among the nation’s top universities in independent annual surveys. The university rose to No. 15 in the latest edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges” guidebook, which is the most closely watched ranking of the nation’s higher education institutions. Niche’s ratings recently ranked Rice No. 6 in the nation overall and No. 1 for students majoring in architecture, sports management, and kinesiology and physical therapy.
