Mumbai: FMCG Giant Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) joins hands with upGrad, Asia’s largest higher edtech company to provide stipend-led internship opportunities for upGrad learners across Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI domains.
With an aim of strengthening the employability infrastructure within the country and upskilling the youth for new-age roles, HUL commits to hire freshers or working professionals with up to 3 years of work experience for profiles across Data & Analytics, Consumer and Marketing Insights, and E-commerce.
Led by senior domain experts from Data & Analytics and Consumer Marketing & Insights team in HUL, the partnership will unfold a series of learning sessions including the application of optimisation in consumer goods manufacturing and understanding how to leverage data-driven tools, time series, and Machine Learning forecasting, etc. to gauge consumer insights and enhance engagement.
Held last week, the first power-packed masterclass introduced upGrad learners to several modern-day projects for enhancing their hands-on skills, while also taking them through the market nuances of FMCG for making informed career choices.
Commenting on the same, Anuradha Razdan, Executive Director HR – HUL & CHRO, Unilever South Asia said, “At HUL, we are on a continuous journey of not only upskilling ourselves as an organisation but also taking the lead in upskilling India. As a part of our social commitment to raising the level of data literacy in our country, we are collaborating with upGrad, which brings together 250+ budding talents from across India. These learners will not only learn about the real-world application of Data Science, AI/ ML across HUL’s value chain, but will also be part of the preferred talent community for our Data Science roles.”
The opportunity comes at a time when the FMCG sector has become one of the most sought-after industries attracting freshers while also accelerating mid-senior level hires ahead of the festive season. As per a recent industry report, the Indian job market has observed a 13 per cent year-on-year growth in September 2022 while also spotlighting the positive demand for professionals with up to 3 years of work experience. At the end of the internship, learners based on their performance will also receive a full-time placement opportunity from HUL.
“We have always believed in creating the strongest placement ecosystem for our learners that propels the right set of career ROI. While we have seen our learners across Data Science, AI, and ML breaking CTC records during FY22, this association with the FMCG market leader will further cement our value proposition for millions and encourage them to reskill themselves for tomorrow’s industrial challenges, especially for fence-sitters who continue to delay their LifeLongLearning timelines,” concluded Mayank Kumar, Co-founder & MD, upGrad.
