Nowshera Forest Division conducts plantation drive at Panchayat Rah under B2V-4
RAJOURI : Sunderbani Range of Nowshera Forest Division today conducted a plantation drive at Panchayat Rah under B2V -4.
The plantation drive was conducted under the theme One Beat One Village Programme. The drive was conducted under the chairmanship of visiting officers of B2V-4, Raman Jhandiyal, Tehsildar Chowki Chora; Rashu Sharma, BDO Chowki Chora; Dr Rajesh Khullar, BMO Chowki Chora; Kulvir Singh, TSO Akhnoor, The members of PRI and locals also participated in the plantation drive.
Speaking on the occasion, Neelima Shah, Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera said that the aim of one beat guard one village programme is to reach out to all the Panchayats and provide them fodder, fruit and other plants for making the Panchayat clean and green . She also said that seed balls of grass and other fodder species were also being distributed among the participants. “A seed ball is a low cost greening initiative of the forest department” she added.
Rakesh Verma, Range Officer , Sunderbani highlighted the importance of green drives and urged the participants to come forward to join hands with the forest department for maximum plantation.
Rajinder Dev Sharma, Block Forest Officer Devak, along with staff of Sunderbani Forest Block, organized the plantation drive.
The whole programme was conducted under the direct supervision of Vivek Verma, Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri and Neelima Shah, Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera and Rakesh Verma Range Officer Sunderbani.
