Training camp organized by Department of Cooperatives Samba

SAMBA : As a part of Jan Abhiyan, Department of cooperatives, in collaboration with department of animal husbandry, on Thursday organised a mega training camp for the Cooperative sector stakeholders here at CMS Vijaypur.

The training camp was organised under the aegis of Additional Secretary to cooperatives, J&K (UT) with the vision to strengthen the cooperative movement in J&K.

Addressing the participants, the Deputy registrar cooperative Societies, Samba, Shruti Sharma highlighted the need of holding training camps and stressed upon the stakeholders to take advantage of schemes under cooperative department and others in order to diversify their business activities.

During the camp, milk farmers were made aware regarding the importance of feed and other supplements for their livestock to increase SNF in milk to get maximum rates. Dr Heena Sharma, veterinary assistant surgeon emphasized on diversifying the dairy activities and highlighted various schemes (under IDDS Program ) that will help farmers to shift over to value addition of milk products.

A detailed overview about production and processing of honey & its associated products was given by Suresh, a young entrepreneur running shiva honey cooperative under CAD Jammu.

The program concluded with the distribution of certificates to trainees and a brief interaction with the members of newly revived cooperative societies with regard to the diversified activities by additional Secretary to cooperative Societies, J&K.

Assistant Registrars of various blocks of district Samba were also present in the camp.
