Chenab White Water Rafting Festival starts at Shibnote under B2V4
Around 200 adventure enthusiasts enjoy rafting with full safety protocols
DODA : To promote rural adventure tourism in the district, the district administration Doda, under the overall guidance of Deputy Commissioner (DC), Vishesh Paul Mahajan and in coordination with JK Adventure Group and Extreme Adventure Group, today started the second White Water Rafting festival under Back to village phase-4 on the waters of mighty Chenab River here in Premnagar’s Shibnote area. The first day of the festival witnessed overwhelming public response as more than 1000 people from across the district, especially youth attended the festival on day-1. Around 200 persons enjoyed the rafting trip from Premnagar Shibnote to Karara.
The DC and SSP Abdul Qayoom, besides other Officers and Media persons also enjoyed the Rafting. The festival is being held under the supervision of SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar. Participants also enjoyed the ATB ride at the venue.
It was informed that the activities would continue at the venue till the organisers receive response from the visitors.
The rafting was conducted following all safety standards and the people especially the youth of the district enjoyed the whole event. Media Persons were offered free rafting on the first day of the festival.
The participants extended gratitude to the district administration Doda especially DC for taking the innovative initiative for youth engagement and appealed to organise such programs on regular intervals.
