Webinar on ‘HVAC Design & Systems’
Aligarh : Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) standards and calculation steps of cooling and heating load for a building were discussed by Mr. Abid Husain, senior consultant, ASHRAE, in a webinar on ‘HVAC design & systems’, organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Z. H. College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), in Association with ASHRAE, AMU Students’ Chapter.
Delivering his expert lecture Mr. Husain highlighted the significance of cooling load estimation for different types of buildings such as schools, hospitals and various industries. Further, he explained in detail the methodology of cooling load estimation for modern buildings. He discussed the power consumption and capital cost for various types of air-conditioning systems. He also explained the evaporative cooling systems, and described in detail about the different types of HVAC systems such as water cooled, air cooled, chilled water systems with thermal storage, radiant cooling & heating, geothermal system, VRV system, floor standing package unit and rooftop package unit.
Earlier, Prof M. Muzammil (Chairperson, Department of Mechanical Engineering) welcomed the guest speaker and introduced him. He also emphasized the importance of HVAC design and systems.
A Question-Answer session was also held after the lecture.
