SGT University is host a conference on ‘Psychological impact of a pandemic on health and well-being’, in partnership with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia
New Delhi : To address issues around emotional and physical health and wellbeing brought on by the pandemic, the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences (FBS), SGT University (Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary), is organising an international conference, ‘Psychosocial Implications in Health & Wellbeing: Looking beyond the Boundaries’, in collaboration with the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, on November 2 and 3.
The conference will incorporate keynote lectures, invited lectures, plenary sessions, symposia, and parallel scientific sessions, altogether covering more than 80 research papers. It will provide a multidisciplinary forum for academicians, researchers, policymakers, practitioners and students from India and abroad, to present and discuss the most recent trends related to COVID-19 and the challenges that individuals and communities continue to face in the wake of the global health crisis.
In addition to the main theme, sub-themes will also be highlighted, among them Perspectives on women’s mental health and well-being; Community health and well-being; Mental health and well-being of special children; Behavioural problems of children and adolescents; Transgender sexuality, health and wellbeing; Mental health and rehabilitation issues in substance use/abuse; Mental health, psychotherapy and counselling; Digital technology and mental health; Wellness coaching and education; Wellbeing at workplaces; and Socioeconomic dimensions in health and wellbeing.
Sharing his thoughts, Prof. Rajbir Singh, Dean, FBS, said, “The conference is being organised to enhance wellbeing among the people and to enlighten students and professors of psychology who are pursuing the great objective of global wellbeing.”
According to Prof. Waheeda Khan, Professor and Advisor, Faculty of Behavioural Sciences, “Our students and faculty will have the opportunity to learn and interact with academicians and students from different universities, in India and abroad. The outcome of the conference would focus on developing strategies to enhance various facets of well-being at individual and community levels, to overcome the psychosocial-educational problems faced during the pandemic.”
