B2V-4: 555 Villages shifted to RCMS, GPDP Formulation completed in 335 Panchayats of Anantnag

ANANTNAG : The fourth phase of the Back to Village program concluded with activities held in 335 panchayats across 16 community development blocks in three phases in Anantnag.

Speaking at the conclusion of the government’s ambitious programme, Dr Basharat Qayoom said that the B2V4 was successfully held in all the Panchayats of the district.

He said that as part of the Jan Abhiyan and B2V4, saturation was achieved in implementation of RCMS and all the villages in Anantnag have been shifted to RCMS. He said that more than 65000 beneficiaries received land passbooks and more than 4000 out of school children were identified and have been streamlined and enrolled in schools.

The DC said that coordinated efforts by all departments were instrumental in ensuring that desired results were met during the program.

Reiterating that the fourth phase of B2V4 was youth centric, he said that nearly 4000 potential youth have been identified to be covered under various self-employment schemes and directions are being issued to ensure that the investments translate into sustainable livelihood opportunities for the youth.

Regarding creating awareness and sensitizing people about measures taken to breed accountability and transparency in the working of public institutions, Dr Basharat said that 24,462 awareness camps were organized in the panchayats to sensitize the public about Jan Bhagidari, BEAMS, etc.

He said that in addition to these more than 4000 CSC camps were organized to spread awareness regarding online G2C services. He said that Rural Haats were established in each panchayat to display the craft of SHG members and allow them to market their products to a larger audience.

ACD Anantnag said that to ensure productive outcomes in the B2V4 program, RDD Anantnag deployed all its men and machinery in the 335 Panchayats. He said that as a result, GPDP formulation, the planning exercise which was at the core of this program was completed in all the Panchayats and identified works appropriately allocated in various schemes in vogue.

He said that the feedback has been encouraging and the remarks of visiting officers will be evaluated and analyzed in detail and interventions tailored to address any critical gaps in development.
