Deptt of FCS&CA holds Awareness/ Grievance Redressal Camp at Sumbal
BANDIPORA : The Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Bandipora on Saturday conducted an awareness cum grievance redressal camp at Dak Banglow, here.
The camp was presided over by Assistant Director FCS&CA, Bilal Ahmad Najar and was attended by officials of FCS&CA, PRIs, general public, teachers and students.
The Assistant Director said that the programme was held with the objective of creating consumer awareness among the PRIs, students and public at large.
During the programme, awareness regarding rights of consumers, precautions to be taken while receiving cooking-gas delivery, labeling norms on the pre-packaged commodities, issues of maximum retail price, online-buying from e-commerce entities, e-filing of complaints, consumer protection Act 2019, right to seek redressal, right to consumer education, right to be heard, right to choose and other issues were provided to the participants.
The Assistant Director on the occasion said that consumers do not have to silently accept substandard quality products, poor service, billing errors, late deliveries and unordered merchandise.
He said Consumers have the right to speak up and voice their dissatisfaction. If problems cannot be resolved with the seller, they can seek recourse from UT and local consumer protection offices, he added.
