MBA GLOBAL: upGrad and Deakin University conclude an online celebration ceremony for 149 learners

Mumbai : Continuing the streak of successful virtual convocations, upGrad, Asia’s largest higher edtech company, in partnership with Deakin University has very recently concluded yet another virtual valedictorian ceremony for 149 learners who have successfully completed their MBA (Global) from Deakin University.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Kamal Nandi – Business Head & Executive Vice President – Godrej Appliances, who addressed the learners, thereby also motivating them for a bright future, said “As business managers and future leaders, we are always problem solving – focusing on risk management, identifying, and mitigating crisis much before it takes shape. We are focused on keeping our business healthy – ensuring that it is in good shape for years to come – keeping an eye on the present and future.” Adding about Godrej Appliance’s initiatives in preserving the planet, he said “At Godrej, we firmly believe that corporates have a huge role to play in preserving our planet.  Time and again, we have been able to set benchmarks for most efficient appliances across categories, encouraging others in the industry to offer more efficient offerings to consumers.”

Other speakers and guests included Dr Joseph Griffin, Director – MBA Global, Deakin University, and Prof Amanda Pyman, Dean, Deakin University. The joint celebration organized by upGrad and Deakin University was witnessed by more than 224 attendees who joined us live for the virtual event out of the graduating base of 149 learners. Safe to safe, the event was also attended by friends and families of the graduating learners along with faculty and staff from Deakin University.

While this marks the 4th ceremony in a span of 2 years, the higher Edtech company has also successfully accelerated positive career outcomes for its former online batches. One such learner who’s been working with Amazon and after completing the global MBA program with upGrad and its partner Deakin University has transitioned as an operations manager with the leading American multinational.

The 90 minutes hybrid celebration ceremony concluded with a series of award winners recognizing the top performers. Sharing her experience, one such learner added, “I am grateful to upGrad for helping me achieve my dream of pursuing an MBA degree from Australia’s top B-school. The program helped me gain niche skills and the industry-ready curriculum opened the door for opportunities that can further strengthen my professional journey.”
