Two international students have received scholarships to study the Global Leadership and Peacebuilding MSc with the African Leadership Centre.

Momin Saqib and Esther Ang’awa have been awarded the 2022 Newsweek Scholarship in Global Leadership and Peacebuilding for International Students to study the Global Leadership and Peacebuilding MSc.

Momin, a student from India, is excited to be able to hone his skill set and use his leadership studies to support a brighter future for local communities in India.

It’s my honour to have been chosen as the awardee of the Newsweek scholarship. Being a strong advocate for inter-cultural exchange, peace and harmony, this programme will enable me to hone my skillset, learn more about leadership concepts and techniques that could help me transform and uplift communities paving the way for a brighter tomorrow!

The Newsweek scholarship has accorded me the privilege of studying global leadership and peacebuilding, subjects close to my heart and apt for the times we live in, at the best university in the world. I am excited to learn and use the wealth of knowledge I will acquire at King’s to impact Africa and the world positively.

The Newsweek Scholarship in Global Leadership and Peacebuilding for International Students is open to change makers within their communities, who are interested in global leadership and peacebuilding. Applicants were required to demonstrate why studying the master’s programme with the ALC will help them to enact transformative change within their societies.

Funding for this scholarship was made possible through the generous support of Dr Dev Pragad, the CEO of Newsweek and alumnus of the ALC.
