Alexandria University’s ISO Certificate goes for renewal for Eighth Year in a Row
Alexandria University obtained the “ISO” quality management systems certificate for the general administration of the university, after the visit of the (American GIC company) team, which grants ISO certificates.
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, had received the auditing team from GIC, which grants various ISO certificates, today, Monday, the 28th of November, after the team had checked for two days the implementation of the international standards through examining documents, field visits, and interviews in the various university departments. It was approved to re-grant the certificate to the university’s administrative body, so that it becomes valid for the next three years, provided that the annual review of the application of the certificate takes place.
During his speech, Dr. Konsowa thanked the administrative staff at Alexandria University for their efforts to preserve the status of the university and to obtain the renewal of the ISO certificate. He stressed that this result is the culmination of the efforts of the administrators and employees. He also thanked the visiting team headed by Engineer Amr El-Helw and the members of the accompanying team, and added that the human element is the basis for the success of any administrative system, explaining that the university will hold in the coming period a package of training courses for workers in the university’s administrative structure, with the aim of preparing second and third grade cadres capable of bearing the burden of management in the coming period, in addition to selecting second grade cadres from members of the teaching staff to have leading and pioneering roles.
Dr. Wael Nabil, Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs, thanked the university’s administrative staff, and confirmed that the university provides permanent support to its employees to continue its successful and dedicated working system.
Mr. Mohamed Fathi Abulnasr, who is in charge of the affairs of the Secretary General of the University, confirmed that Alexandria University headed by Dr. Konsowa is exerting its maximum effort to achieve administrative quality in light of the state’s drive towards digital transformation, in order to facilitate services and save time and effort. He stressed that this interest comes from the desire to achieve clear foundations for continuous evaluation and development, to achieve the required set of development goals, according to Egypt’s Vision 2030.
The visit was preceded by the preparation and rehabilitation of the university’s departments in accordance with the international standards of ISO 9001/2015, under the supervision and follow-up of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Mr. Mohamed Fathi Abulnasr, who is in charge of the affairs of the Secretary General of the University, and the assistant secretaries of the university, where the Quality Assurance Department at the university under the supervision of Dr. Kamal Kamal Metwally, the supervisor of the administration, assisted by the quality team at the university, published and followed up the application of the standards on the various departments of the university.
It is worth noting that the university obtained the ISO 9001/2008 certificate in May 2015, and the certificate was renewed for the years 2016 and 2017, while 2018 the new standards were converted to ISO 9001/2015, on the basis of which it was renewed for three consecutive years. The ISO certificate was re-awarded for this year after the granting authority praised the level of application and continuous improvement.
The closing session was attended by the assistant secretaries, the quality team, general managers, department directors, department coordinators for quality, and university employees.
