J&K AACL’s 5-Day Painters Camp begins at K.L Saigal Hall Jammu
JAMMU : The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (AACL), under the guidance of its Secretary Bharat Singh, organised a 5-Day Painters Camp here at K.L Saigal Hall , Jammu Writers Club.
Six veteran painters of Jammu Gokul Dembi, Harsh Vardhan, Rohit Verma, Dr. Archana Choudhary, Deepa Soni and Sarvesh Sharma are participating and displaying their art in the camp.
Gokul Dembi, the senior most artist, inaugurated the camp by putting up his signatures on the canvas.
The inaugural event set the momentum of the camp as all the senior artists and the distinguished guests like K.K Gandhi, Jung S. Verman, Sukhjeet Singh Kukkal, Akram Khan, Vinod Verma and others put their signatures.
In his presidential address, Gokul Dembi appreciated the efforts of the Academy for organising such camps. He stressed that National Camps should be organised on a regular basis so that the works of artists from the J&K U.T get exposed to them and vice versa.
From AACL, Dr. Shahnawaz, Editor Cum Cultural Officer, Gojri presented the welcome address on behalf of the Secretary. Irshad Hussain, Assistant Exhibition Officer, is the In-charge of the camp. The proceedings of the inaugural session were conducted by Anil Tickoo, Assistant Cultural Officer.
