Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurates new facilities at NARFBR in Hyderabad
Union Health and Family Welfare minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on Saturday inaugurated new facilities at the state-of-the-art, National Animal Resource Facility for Biomedical Research (NARFBR) in Hyderabad.
The national facility is located in Genome Valley, Hyderabad’s biotech hub. Spread over 100 acres and 20 buildings the facility will serve as a one-stop centre for basic, applied and regulatory animal studies in India.
In line with the PM’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, the new campus will be instrumental in ensuring the availability of infrastructure services for pre-clinical testing of new drugs, vaccines, and diagnostics within the country.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister emphasised the need for opening up the premier institutions for all for research and innovation. He said efforts are underway to make the country a pharma hub.
