New BDS students attend ‘Orientation Programme’
Aligarh: The newly admitted Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) of the Z A Dental College (ZADC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) were motivated to attain great heights through relentless goal setting, hard work, dedication and determination in the ‘Orientation Programme’ designed to help them with the transition to higher education on December 21.
Presiding over the function at the ZADC Conference Hall, Prof R K Tewari (Principal, ZADC) remarked: “This programme is intended to help all students acclimate to the new university environment and it marks a new beginning.
He pointed out that ZADC has all the state-of-art facilities to shape the new BDS students into excellent dentists.
Later speaking on the anti-ragging rules and regulations, Prof Tewari asked the students to immediately inform the ZADC anti-ragging squad in case they are exposed to any ridicule and contempt affecting their self-esteem.
He urged the new students to carefully read the anti-ragging pamphlets with details of local and national anti-ragging help lines.
Dr Syed Amaan Ali (Department of Periodontics and Community Dentistry) delivered the welcome address.
Dr Amina (Department of Prosthodontics) introduced the new students to the faculty members.
Dr Saba Khan (Department of Orthodontics/Human Dental Anatomy) discussed the Dental Council of India (DCI) guidelines and Dr Shariq Alam (Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics) talked about safety practices for dental surgery students.
