Ural Federal University Hosts Forum On Cognitive Neuroscience
Ural Federal University hosted the V International Forum on Cognitive Neuroscience “Cognitive Neuroscience – 2022”. Specialists in neurobiology, psychology and neuropsychology, pedagogy, data analytics, economics discussed a variety of questions about the brain, human cognition and behavior, cognitive recovery applications and technologies, and more. The forum was attended by about 400 experts and listeners from Russia, Canada, Turkey and other countries.
“Modern scientific knowledge about the work of the human brain is finding more and more areas for practical application every year. Today neurotechnologies are actively used in medicine, sports, education, HR and personnel management. At the Cognitive Neuroscience forum, leading experts – representatives of science and business – gathered together to identify the prospects of neuroscience and neurotechnology industry development, discuss cutting-edge research, and strengthen interaction between universities and commercial companies to create new high-tech products,” explained Elvira Symanyuk, Head of the Ural Humanities Institute at UrFU.
This year, the forum introduced participants to advanced technologies and expert experience in promoting commercial products, and the subtleties of modern scientific knowledge about the brain and human behavior. The program consisted of two directions: theoretical and practical. For example, scientists told about the latest achievements in the field of neurotechnology: neuroelectronic interfaces for rehabilitation, the effectiveness of cognitive training – neural mechanisms and motivational factors, budgeting eye-tracking and more. Reports and master classes were given by representatives of leading Russian companies and projects in the field of neurotechnology: Vladimir Konyshev (CEO of NeuroBotics), Natalia Galkina (founder and CEO of NeuroTrend and NeuroChat), Aleksey Paevsky (Chief Editor of Neuronovosti portal), Denis Zakharkin (CEO of VR Concept), Nadezhda Babenkova (CEO of Brain Development).
Note that the previous four forums brought together more than 2,000 participants from different countries (including Spain, Germany, the United States and Israel). “Cognitive Neuroscience – 2019” was the winner in the category “Community Event of the Year” in the national competition “Golden Psyche”.
