Training/ Awareness programme for Orchardists’ held at Ganderbal

Ganderbal: As part of Good Governance Week, Horticulture Department Ganderbal today organised a one-day Training cum awareness programme titled “Promotion of Information and Technology Dissemination among Orchardists” at Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat, here.

The programme was attended by a large number of progressive orchardists of the district who were made aware about different schemes available for them being implemented by the department.

The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shyambir was the chief guest on the occasion while Deputy Director Central, Horticulture, Shafeeqa Khalid was the guest of honour.

Addressing the gathering, DDC impressed upon the participants to come forward and take the advantage of various schemes viz. MIDH, PMDP, SMAM, CAPEX etc. being implemented by the Horticulture Department.

He also gave on spot instructions to the officers to organise more such programmes in every nook and corner of the district.

Earlier, Chief Horticulture Officer Ganderbal, Abdul Hamid Bhat highlighted the present scenario of the horticulture sector in the district.

A powerpoint presentation was given regarding different schemes implemented by the Department.

Dr Ishfaq, Programme Co-ordinator KVK Ganderbal also gave a powerpoint presentation titled “challenges in harnessing the optimal productivity of Horticulture crops-way forward.”

Chief Agriculture Officer Ganderbal, Assistant Director Fisheries (Nodal officer PMFME) also participated in the programme.
