Held! RWTH Education Fund Scholarship Award 2022

Together with their sponsors, scholarship holders of the University of Excellence celebrated the start of the new funding period of the RWTH Education Fund. This year, the event was once again held in a festive atmosphere in the Coronation Hall of Aachen City Hall. The students received their certificates in the presence of around 500 participants, including 290 future scholarship holders, 180 representatives of the sponsors and other guests of RWTH.

After a virtual greeting by Sibylle Keupen, Mayor of the City of Aachen, the Rector first gave a short address and thanked the sponsors on behalf of RWTH for their commitment. In an interview, Linda Seuken and Leo Blöcher, on behalf of the scholarship holders, gave an insight into the framework program that complements the monetary support of the Education Fund. A total of 416 of the particularly talented students prevailed in the selection process for the 2022/2023 funding round against more than 2,000 competitors from all disciplines. They are now supported by a total of 116 sponsors – regional, national and international companies, associations, foundations and private individuals.

Following the stage program, there were opportunities for students and sponsors, other guests and the Education Fund team to meet and get to know each other. The evening was rounded off by the musical accompaniment of pianist Moritz Schippers.
