Motorcycle rally held to create awareness about traffic rules at Anantnag

ANANTNAG : A Road Safety MotorCycle rally was held today at Anantnag to create awareness about traffic rules as a part of celebration of National Road Safety Week, 2023.

The Road Safety MotorCycle Rally was flagged-off by SDPO Anantnag, Ashiq Hussain in presence of Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Anantnag, Dr Mohammad Zubair Lattoo.

The Rally was organised by the Transport department Anantnag in collaboration with the automobile dealer association of Anantnag district to create awareness on the use of helmets.

The rally started from Khanabal Chowk and passed through Bijbehara, Kanelwan, Srigufwara via Akad Park, Mattan and culminated at General Bus Stand Anantnag. More than 60 two wheeler riders participated in the Road Safety Bike rally.

The volunteers who participated in the rally were also provided anti crash helmets.

Speaking on the occasion, SDPO Anantnag said that road safety education is an important ingredient in improving safety towards human life, reducing accidents and fatalities from the accidents.

ARTO said that the main aim of the rally was to spread a word of awareness with regard to usage of Helmet. He further said that in 2021 as per MoRTH report around 47000 lives were lost and 94000 were injured just because they did not adhere to the use of crash helmets.

Among others who participated in the programme were officials from the Police department, Traffic Department and automobile dealer association of district Anantnag.
