The Office of Human Resources is hosting an interactive webinar to help employees explore how to prepare for the constant flux of life and to navigate when the road ahead seems unclear.

Mark Saine, managing director of client leadership solutions at TIAA, will lead the discussion to offer practical steps for managing the demands of a rapidly changing environment. The one-hour webinar is Thursday, Feb. 23, at noon. It is open to all employees at no charge. Registration in MyTrack is required.

The HR wellness seminar series offers employees a variety of topics to explore through scheduled webinars and on-demand videos.

Through Care.com, employees get access to Care Talks, which offers expert advice and guidance to help with self-care and caregiving responsibilities. HR announced in December that University Oregon employees now have access to Care.com as an added resource to help find solutions to unique family care needs. The university pays the monthly membership fee so employees can search caregiver profiles, post jobs and use the website’s extensive library of resources and tools.

A variety of options are available on the Eugene campus to support employee wellness during the work week. Employees can visit the Duck Nest inside Erb Memorial Union for a quiet place to relax, log their steps by charting a walk across campus, or get a membership to the Student Recreation Center to have a workout option. Dining halls provide convenient and healthy eating options, and with the help of the UO nutrition calculator menus and nutritional information are a tap away.

Human resources connects employees to additional work-life balance and employee wellness resources that are available to all regardless of benefits eligibility, including the LifeMart Discount Program that provides exclusive offers on child care, education, nutrition services and more.

Benefits-eligible employees have access to comprehensive wellness programs through the Public Employees’ Benefit Board. The programs include health coaching, nutrition and healthy eating support, WW membership, and an additional discount program.

Canopy, the university’s employee assistance program provider, offers confidential consulting on a variety of topics such as child care and elder care referral, financial coaching, home ownership, crisis counseling and more. University benefits also include HealthyYou, a program specifically designed to set health goals, track progress, stay motivated and get valuable information along the way.

“Well-being is an important aspect of a positive employee experience,” said Sandee Bybee, HR employee engagement and communications manager. “When employees are prioritizing wellness and strive to improve their well-being they are more engaged and experience reduced stress.”

Employees are encouraged to tap into the variety of wellness resources and activities available through the UO to boost their wellness journey and enhance their engagement, Bybee said.

HR’s employee engagement guide includes information and resources about the importance of shared responsibility and the difference that engagement makes in the workplace. It also offers resources through Gallup and LinkedIn Learning that provide strategies for managers and employees.
