DDC Samba inaugurates District Level Volleyball tournament under BBBP

Samba: District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria today inaugurated a inter zone District Level girls volleyball tournament 2020 at Arazi stadium, Samba in its endeavour to promote ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ Scheme.
Chief planning Officer, Sukhleen Kour, District Social Welfare Officer, Deep Kumar, District Youth Sports and Services, Kiran Jyoti, Assistant Director Handloom, Sonam Verma, District Information Officer, Ajay Sharma besides other t officers and people in large numbers were present on the occasion.
While addressing the gathering, DDC said that girls’ right to life and education is tantamount and maximum awareness through various activities including sports activities is generated to spread this novel message under BBBP Scheme.
“Girls should inculcate Sports activities in their daily schedule as it brings out not only physical development and cognitive development but it also develops a spirit of competitiveness and team work” DDC said.
Vijaypur, Ghagwal, Ramgarh and Samba zone participated in the inter zone volleyball tournament and after 6 matches Ramgarh took 1st prize while Vijaypur and Samba took second and third spot respectively.
DDC appreciated the District Task Force committee members for preparing the BBBP calendar which included a host of activities like sports events, personality development courses and other awareness programmes in the district.
Later chief Guest, DDC distributed mementos and certificates among the winners and participants.
