Korea Maritime & Ocean University: Institute for Teaching and Learning Development, Disclosure of Marine Specialized K-MOOC Course
The Institute for Teaching and Learning Development ( President Hong Hyo-jeong ) has released three maritime-specialized K-MOOC courses on the Korean Open Online Course (K-MOOC) platform . It is a lecture on the ocean and culture , life on the sea , and maritime transportation theory .
First of all, the ‘ Ocean and Culture ‘ lecture by Professor Kim Tae-man ( School of Global Maritime Humanities ) consists of contents that can be easily understood about the importance of marine science and technology, development of the marine industry, and marine culture .
▲ Professor Choi Jin-cheol ( School of Convergence of Navigation ) ‘ s ‘ Life on the Sea ‘ lecture is designed to understand the cultural concept and the specificity of maritime communication , and to learn about the influence on communication and interaction with other members inside and outside the ship. .
▲ Professor Jung Young-seok ( School of Maritime Law ) ‘s ‘ Theory of Maritime Transportation ‘ is expected to help students learn and understand the system and practice of maritime transportation, including understanding of shipping, shipping -related organizations , and port management .
As these courses provide education on various topics about the ocean and are composed of contents that help raise the level of marine literacy and marine awareness , it is expected that the influence will extend beyond university members to the local community .
Hong Hyo-jeong, director of the Center for Teaching and Learning Development, said , “ Our university has been continuously introducing excellent Korean-style open online courses on marine specialization since 2021. ” I will do my best to do it faithfully , ” he said .
