Sarojini Naidu Hall wins Inter-Hall girls’ Kabaddi Tournament
Aligarh : Team A of the Sarojini Naidu Hall, the girls’ residential hostel emerged as winner in the inter-Hall Kabaddi tournament by defeating Abdullah Hall by 25-4 points.
The tournament was organized by Sarojini Naidu Hall for the bonafide girl students of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), in which five teams participated, including two teams from Sarojini Naidu Hall and one team each from Begum Azeezun Nisa Hall, Bibi Fatima Hall and Abdullah Hall of the University.
The semi finalists were teams from Begum Azeezun Nisa Hall, Abdullah Hall and Sarojini Hall.
Dr. Razia Rizvi, retired sports faculty attended the prize distribution ceremony as chief guest. She encouraged the girl students to keep themselves fit and active and engage in outdoor sports.
Prof. Shaheen, Provost, Sarojini Naidu Hall congratulated the winners for bringing laurels to the hostel and praised their team spirit. She encouraged the residents to participate with similar zeal and enthusiasm in the sports events of the upcoming Hall week.
Ms. Anjali Verma, Mr. Manoj Pratap Singh and Mr. Vivek Singh from the Department of Physical Education, AMU were referees for the tournament.
Dr. Saba Khan, Dr. Bushra Siddiqui and Dr. Alivea Raza, Dr. Sufia Naseem, Dr. Asfia Sultan and Dr. Maryam Fatima (Sarojini Naidu Hall Wardens) coordinated the event and Ms. Khadija Safri conducted the programme.
