King’s College London Expert Appointed By NIHR Senior Investigators for 2023

Paola Dazzan, Professor of Neurobiology of Psychosis and Vice Dean (International) at Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London has been appointed to the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) College of Senior Investigators for 2023 in the 16th round of the Senior Investigator competition.

Professor Dazzan is also the joint theme lead for Psychosis and Mood Disorders at the NIHR Maudsley BRC.

Senior Investigators are leaders in research and are fundamental to expanding scientific avenues to address public health challenges across the country.

Emily Simonoff, Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Head of Department and Interim Director of the King’s Maudsley Partnership, is now an Emeritus Senior Investigator.

Researchers are awarded NIHR Senior Investigator status for internationally excellent research – in particular its value, significance to patients and the public, and its overall healthcare impact. The annual competition is led by an international panel of experts, and awardees go on to provide visible leadership within the NIHR.
