Rice University Emergency Medical Services (REMS) received recognition in two categories at the National Collegiate EMS Conference: EMS Ready Campus and Heartsafe Campus.

The National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Foundation’s EMS Ready Campus program is designed to recognize excellence in emergency management and disaster preparedness of collegiate EMS organizations. REMS was recognized at the bronze tier.

Additionally, REMS was recognized as a Heartsafe Campus, where public access defibrillation and trained responders maintain a high level of preparedness, promoting a stronger chain of survival in the event of cardiac arrest.
