3 Days workshop on ‘Household Income Expenditure survey’ & ‘Employment/ Labour Force Survey’ held
SRINAGAR : The Directorate of Economics & Statistics, J&K organised a three days workshop on surveys, viz. ‘Household Income Expenditure Survey’ and ‘Employment Labour Force Survey’ under ‘Support for Statistical Strengthening’ from 16th to 18th of March, 2023 at Directorate of Economics Statistics, Bemina Srinagar.
The workshop was inaugurated by Director General, Regional Director (E&S) Kashmir, Athar Hussain Qadri.
Regional Director, E&S Kashmir in his address highlighted the importance of the surveys vis-à-vis the role of Directorate for collecting the data on the designed surveys. He impressed upon all the field functionaries for collecting reliable and coherent data that will pave the way for making Government policies.
He also briefed them about the survey and encouraged them to take full benefit of training so that quality data could be obtained.
The instant surveys will focus on obtaining the data on unemployment, income expenditure scenarios as the basis for effective socio-economic policy formulation so as to position the developmental efforts in more pragmatic and people oriented directions.
Ashiq Hussain, Joint Director (Surveys DES) also highlighted the importance of the surveys.
The training is being imparted by Mohammad Ismail Bangroo, Assistant Director (Survey) DES; Musadiq Khan, Assistant Director (Statistical Training School Srinagar) and Tahseen Mustafa, Senior Statistical Officer, NSO, FOD Jammu.
The training is being attended by Priyanka Parihar (DD, Surveys DES; Inman (DD, SIU DES) and all District Statistics & Evaluation Officers (DSEOs) of Kashmir Division along with their concerned survey staff and other officers and officials of Directorate of Economics & Statistics/ Regional Directorate E&S Kashmir.
