BAN Annual Hall Week concludes
Aligarh : Begum Azeezun Nisa Hall celebrated its Annual Hall Week titled “Noor-e-Imro”, which was inaugurated on 11th March by the Chief Guest Prof Mohammad Gulrez, Pro-Vice-chancellor and Guest of Honour, Mr Mohammad Imran, IPS Registrar, AMU. The Hall week concluded on 15th March.
The highlight of the evening were song and live painting performances curated by the residents of the Hall. In the next four days, the Hall organised a list of diverse Literary and Cultural Events and Competitions.
Prof Mohammad Gulrez, in his inaugural address, emphasised on the role of co-curricular activities in personal and professional development, while Mr. Mohammad Imran, IPS, reiterated their importance in the overall character development of a student. Prof. Subuhi khan, Provost, encouraged students to take up this opportunity to not only showcase, but hone their respective talents in different activities. The cultural program by Ms Divya Verma and the presentation of song and poetry in foreign languages received appreciation.
To bring out the best of the creativity, artistry, and innovations of students of the Hall, a variety of competitions were organised. A special lecture on managing Mental Health by Ms. Farah Sarosh, founder and director of NurtureLife was also organised; Ms Farah discussed the importance of good mental health not only on one’s personal life but their professional and academic careers as well.
The valedictory Session of the eventful Hall Week was held on the 15th of March, Prof. Naima Khatoon, Principal, Women’s College, was the Chief Guest of the event, while Dr. Faiza Abbasi, Director UGCHRDC, was the Guest of Honour. Prof Subuhi Khan, Provost, also felicitated a list of special guests belonging to diverse academic and professional fields.
The final day witnessed a live painting session of revolutionary Annie Besant by Ms. Devanshi Saini and a short Skit on the theme, ‘Violence has no gender’ written and performed by Ms Ilma Chaudhry and her team. Ms Alisha Ibkar, General Warden in her welcome address introduced the guests.
The cultural events were organised by cultural and joint cultural secretaries, Ms Divya and Ms Ilma, while literary events were organised by literary and joint literary secretaries Ms Nada and Ms Ramsha. The Joint Senior Hall Monitor, Ms Tehmeesh, helped in conducting the events. The arrangements were taken care by Ms Aunisa, the Senior Food Monitor, and Ms Shabnam Ali, Senior Discipline Monitor of the Hall.
Dr Fauzia Faridi, the literary and cultural warden of the Hall, delivered the vote of thanks. The team of wardens, Ms Rabab Khan, Dr Zeba Azmat, Dr Bushra, Dr Zarrin Imran, Ms Rafeeda Siddiqi, Ms Nazia Begum, Ms Sadaf, Dr Jyoti Kusumbal, Dr Adeeba and Dr Sufia Azeem and the Hall Committee members planned and organised the events.
