JNMC students attend Winter School on Emergency Medicine at Podgorica, Montenegro
Aligarh: Four MBBS final year students from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) ? Arham Khan, Hazique Jameel, Gesu Ahmad and Sayem Ahmad attended the Winter School organised by Montenegrin Medical Students and Young Doctors Association (MMSYDA) on Emergency Medicine.
The Winter School was organised in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro and had many applicants from across the globe, out of which 25 Medical Undergraduates were short-listed for the attending the final program.
The one-week course comprised brainstorming discussions, demonstrations, skill based learning and hands-on- training for essential techniques and technology useful in the field of Emergency Medicine. The main focus was on the most necessary skills in the Emergency Department including Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation, Glasgow Coma Score Evaluation, Emergency Surgery, Road Traffic Accidents, Chest and Abdominal Trauma, Foreign Body ingestion and many other manipulations and techniques that are crucial in Emergency Situations. This was supplemented by high yield discussions on Clinical Case Scenarios and Recent Advancements in the Field.
It is a proud moment for the JNMC and AMU; as young undergraduate students represented the college at a reputed international platform. This not only adds to their achievements, but will also motivate the junior batches to participate in bigger programs following the footsteps of their seniors.
The Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Prof R. Maheshwari congratulated the students for their effort and encouraged them to continue with the same enthusiasm in the future also.
