Rajouri: Dr Rubia Bukhari awarded Outstanding Faculty Award

RAJOURI : Dr Rubia Bukhari, lecturer from Poonch Campus of Jammu University, has been awarded the Outstanding Faculty Award by Government Degree College Darhal for her distinguished research in sericulture.

The award was presented during a two-day multidisciplinary national conference on recent trends in science, humanity and literature organised by the college.

In addition to her role as a lecturer in the Department of Sericulture, Dr Bukhari is also responsible for overseeing the development and promotion of Poonch Campus. During the second day of the conference, she presented a detailed paper on novel breeding techniques to enhance mulberry (Morus alba L).

Teaching Assistant, Department of Sericulture, Kalpna Sudan also presented a paper on sericulture. She outlined how sericulture offers an opportunity to improve rural livelihoods and was awarded for best paper presentation.

The organisers praised Dr Bukhari’s efforts to introduce latest techniques in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch. In her acceptance speech, Dr Bukhari expressed gratitude towards the organisers and pledged to continue working for promotion of sericulture.
