Lieutenant Governor Brig. BD Mishra inaugurates 3rd edition of Ladakh Literary Conference at Syed Mehdi Memorial Hall Kargil

In Ladakh, Lieutenant Governor Brig. (DR) BD Mishra (Rtd) inaugurated the 3rd edition of the Ladakh Literary Conference at Syed Mehdi Memorial Hall Kargil.

During the inaugural session, two papers were presented, one by Purgi Scholar Issa Sabiri on the Development of Purgi Language and Script and another by Gen Tubstan Paldan (State Awardee) on Ladakh Language and Literature-An Insight.

Talking about the importance of education and expressing the concern of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the education system, particularly Exams, LG Mishra distributed Exam Warriors Book by the Prime Minister to students of the different schools.

Expressing his Joy for attending the first Literary Conference, he said that he was astonished to know the richness of the language and cultural diversity of Ladakh through different languages, including Purgi, Bhoti, Ladakhi, Balti, Shina, Dardi, Urdu and even in English.

He mentioned that the Prime Minister still remembers the incident when the people of Kargil got stranded in Iran during the COVID-19 pandemic period and their process of evacuation. This shows the love the Prime Minister has for Kargil, added the Lieutenant Governor.
