Teach For India organised the culminating convening of the 6th edition of InnovatED- the incubation program for the budding entrepreneurs
New Delhi – The final gathering of InnovatED 2023- the incubation program for the fellows of Teach For India, was organised at The Gnostic Center, Delhi from March 22nd to 25th. The 4-day event saw sessions facilitated by social sector leaders from within and beyond the sector.
InnovatEd is a nine-month incubation platform designed for the fellows of Teach For India that culminate into the summit. It marks the cohort’s graduation from the program into the larger collective of InnovatED entrepreneurs. At present, there are 36 alum organisations in Delhi. The alums have successfully reached out and transformed the lives of 46000 children while Teach For India as an organisation has transformed the lives of 10000 children in the city. The children are placed in a total of 56 under Govt and resourced schools of Delhi.
Sharing his excitement on the occasion, Mr. Ramabhadran Sundaram, Director of the Alumni Impact vertical of Teach For India, said, “The current cohort of entrepreneurs is one of our most diverse cohorts who are trying to address issues like climate change, financial literacy, numeracy, and media literacy through their organisations. They are opening up new avenues to bridge gaps in the education sphere and open up new opportunities for children to grow into the life of their choice. We want to play a role in enabling them to sustain and scale their organisation by putting them in front of potential funders who can support them”.
Vibha Chokhani, from The Mindkind Institute, one of the speakers at the summit, shared her enthusiasm about the session saying- “It’s a privilege to be here and do something for Teach For India. I am delighted to have the opportunity to know and support the cohort through my session”.
Asmita is a part of InnovatED’s 2022 cohort. She runs an organisation called Via News Didi which works on media literacy and journalism education for students. She shared, “My time at InnovatED has been incredible because I got to meet so many wonderful people and got to learn so much under the guidance of the experts from the sector.”
The other speakers who held sessions at the summit were Akanksha Gulati from ACT Grants, Tania Singh from Deloitte, Ashish Shalini Shrivastava from Shiksharth, Abhisekh Chaudhary from MSDF & Saajha, Meghna Rakshit & Harish Subramanyam from Studio Subu. The event culminated with the outgoing cohort showcasing their organisation and their story of work to an audience of potential supporters and funders.
