Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management Celebrates its 25th Foundation Day
New Delhi: Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management celebrated its 25th Foundation Day in its college premises. The event highlighted with the grace of Gen Bikram Singh (Retd) former Chief of Army Staff Indian Army, who delivered a lecture on “Leadership Challenges for Budding Corporate Leaders”. The event was presided by Shri Anil Shastri, former Union Minister & Chairman, LBSIM.
While interacting with audience Gen. Bikram Singh said “What I see here today is a dream. You got an ocean of opportunity that you need to grab. In-corporate world you will go through with many challenges, but you have to face those challenges and overcome out of it, to become a leader. In modern era of advancement first challenge comes up your way is cultural Diversity every organization has a different culture which you need to adapt instantly. The second challenge is, to be able to remain on the right path. Third, the student must learn the Art of understanding of non- verbal communication. Last but not least corporate politics, always consider corporate politics as distribution of duties. In your career spam you will faced these kinds of politics but you need to empower yourself so that no one will able to touch you.
Further he stressed on three-phase to empower leaders. Retribution, Ethics, & Skills of confidence if you work on this, then surely you become a successful leader. In a Survey of 6000 people, only 8% come up as leaders. Whenever you get the power to give duties pass on missions to your subordinates and take missions from your superiors
On this day, LBSIM honored its alumni for Corporate Excellence, the recipients of the award were, Amit Kapoor (1995-97)General Manager SEBI, Rohit Kheten (1995-97)Director Shri Shyam Agro Biotech Pvt. Ltd, Vikas Nangia(1996-98) Managing director A-core Capital Investment Singapore, Prashant Kaul (2001-03) Vice president Bank of America and Manjuri Sinha (2005-07) Global head of talent acquisition OLX Group Berlin.
On this occasion Chairman of LBSIM Anil Shastri gave a brief report on the achievements of LBSIM and said that in last 25 years this college has come up on top of all competition despite challenges .He also expresses his gratitude to each and every member of LBSIM for achieving this extraordinary milestone. He thanked the students for bringing laurels to LBSIM through their hard work and talent along with the faculty members who are part and parcel of every event.
