Workshop organised on World Health Day #G20Summit

Aligarh : On the occasion of the World Health Day, the department of Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib, Faculty of Unani Medicine, AMU organized a workshop on 7th April in the Museum Hall. It was the first pre-conference workshop of the forthcoming World Congress on Integrated Community Health (WCICH-2024). The workshop was organized in association with Indian Integrated Community Health Association (IICHA) and Simnan Imperial Guild (SIG). A short video documentary prepared by WHO was also played.

Prof SM Safdar Ashraf, Chairman of the department in his welcome address gave a brief about the theme of this year’s world health day “Health for all”. Being Nodal Officer and Media Advisor to WHO he shared various major breakthrough activities.

The senior most Faculty of Unani Medicine Prof MM Wamiq Amin graced the occasion as a guest of honour. He pondered over the lifestyle modifications in accordance with teachings of the Unani system of medicine.

Prof BD Khan, Principal Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College gave inputs in regard to the collaborative possible role of Unani physicians and drug manufacturing units in holistic health care through Unani Medicine

Two invited lectures were delivered on the occasion. The first lecture was delivered by Dr Abdul Aziz Khan on “Health for All through primary health care & scope for Unani System of Medicine.”

Dr. Mohammad Salman Shah, Department of Community Medicine, JNMC delivered the second invited lecture on the topic, “Leveraging health for all through Universal Health Coverage (UHC).”

The official website and first information brochure of the World Congress on Integrated Community Health (WCICH-2024) was launched by the Chairman and Dr Ammar Ibne Anwar.

Dr Atiya Anjum conducted the programme and Ayesha Parween, Lovely Sing, Anam Athar and Mohd Junaid jointly coordinated the proceedings.
