Over 30,000 BMC students revel in experiential learning at KidZania Mumbai
Mumbai : The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), regaled its students with the remarkable experiences offered by KidZania Mumbai. 30,000 students across 27 wards had a Fun-N-Learn time from being a pilot, a cheese maker, a surgeon to running a fashion boutique, at the unique simulation park.
A never-before opportunity for students to access experiential learning, the school excursion was planned for the academic year of 2022-23, for students from 4th to 7th grades. Through several, profession-based role-playing activities, children got an opportunity to polish their creativity, imagination, and develop decision-making skills.
Ms. Asha More, BMC officer, said, “We are elated to join hands with KidZania Mumbai for the third time. It was heartening to see over 30,000 students getting an opportunity to explore and have a real-life experience of their dream jobs. We do not want our school children to study just textbooks. KidZania is the perfect edutainment destination which helps to look beyond. We look forward to more such excursions in the years to come.”
The KidZania philosophy ‘Get Ready for a Better World’ captures the commitment to providing a fun and learning experience which prepares children to make a positive impact on society. A day-long trip to KidZania was the perfect opportunity for students to interface with the possibilities that lie ahead for them. They learned critical skills while having fun, and there can be nothing better for their all-round development.
Speaking during the visit Dr. Rajesh Kankal, Education officer said, “I would like to start with thanking Mr. Rahul Dhamdhere, Mr. Suraj Sinha and their team for being so creative and giving the students and teachers such an excellent experience, especially for students who got such a valuable insight for their career. It is great that Kidzania focuses on skill development and awareness of skills which is also promoted under the NEP. This program gave the students exposure to business and vocational skills, life skills, soft skills, financial skills all under one roof. They also took full care of food, safety, security etc and everyone enjoyed the trip to the fullest. They were able to organize a full trip for the kids and gave the students a lifetime experience where they got a chance to experience ‘experiential and activity-based learning’. Teachers are insisting to organize more such trips to KidZania.”
Mr. Rahul Dhamdhere, Chief Marketing Officer, KidZania India said, “We are thankful to BMC for putting their faith in KidZania’s offerings. This school trip gave us yet another opportunity to host the students from the city’s municipal schools, allowing them to spark their imaginations and gain skills that will serve them for a lifetime. We believe that the trip was extremely successful, enjoyable, and helpful for all the visiting students.”
