Uzbekistan’s University and LPU collaborate

 

Jalandhar: An international scientific, research and practical conference was held in Samarkand on the initiative of the Silk Road International Tourism University (SRITU), Uzbekistan. During this conference, a globally significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between SRITU of Uzbekistan and Lovely Professional University (LPU) of India. MoU will contribute to the further development of promising cooperation not only in education but also in the tourism sector. The Scope of collaboration on academic and research activities in this MoU includes joint research projects, students and faculty exchange programmes; organization/ participation in Joint conferences, workshops and more. On behalf of the Uzbek University, Vice Rector Turaev Bakhodir signed the MoU for mutual consensus.

Head of the Division of International Affairs at LPU, Mr Aman Mittal shares that the MoU is going to benefit students and staff members of both the universities and the people of the two countries in numerous ways. Illustrative, this conference was attended by the Head of the Tourism & Airlines Department at LPU (India) Prof Dr Sandip Valia as Key-Note Speaker. Mr Valia emphasized on the revival of old silk route and trade, thereupon for the propagation of the old districts, cities of the regions, on the old “silk way”. Various other international universities participated were from Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine and more. The conference proved a bridge for negotiations, contributing to the prospective development of international cooperation between leading universities and specialists in tourism; and, so memorandums of cooperation were signed at the conference.

Dean at LPU School of Hotel Management and Tourism (SoHMT), Amreesh Misra shares that one of the unique strengths of SOHMT is its internationalism & diversification. This collaboration will further strengthen efforts in this regard. Along with this collaboration school will make greater contributions to the development of the industry, in the years ahead, by steering the positive growth of tourism for both countries. This strategic partnership will provide an excellent platform for internship and industry collaboration on needs of the students and faculty members.

Many international speakers attended the conference held on “Effective Use of Tourist Potential of the Territories: Theory, Practice and Prospects”. Here, the purpose was to create an international platform for exchange of experience and development of scientific-methodological, practical proposals and recommendations for effective use of tourist potential of the regions.

Other bodies and universities participated in the conference included the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, North Caucasus Federal University (Russia), Belarusian State Pedagogical University, Elabuga Institute of Kazan Federal University (Russia), Sochi State University (Russia), Khazar University (Azerbaijan), Armenian Institute of Tourism (a branch of the Russian International Academy of Tourism), Kiev National University of Technology and Design (Ukraine).
