Prof Akhtar Haseeb’s services appreciated
Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor appreciated the services of Professor Akhtar Haseeb, the outgoing Pro-Vice Chancellor, who today retired from university services after a long period of teaching in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.
Addressing a farewell programme held in the conference room of Administrative Block, Prof Mansoor said that Professor Haseeb rendered highly appreciable services as the Pro-Vice Chancellor and proved his mettle as an able administrator. His notable services as the Vice Chancellor of the Narendra Dev Agricultural University, Faizabad are matter of pride for the AMU, he added.
In his farewell speech, Prof Akhtar Haseeb said that he joined the university in 1970 as a student and remained associated with it in some way or other and worked for the development of this historical institution with all his dedication and commitment. He expressed gratitude to the university and his colleagues for their cooperation and support.
AMU Registrar, Mr Abdul Hamid (IPS), while conducting the programme, said that Prof Haseeb served this university in various capacities including Registrar, Controller of Examination, OSD Development and Member Incharge Dawakhana Tibbiya College.
Prof Tariq Mansoor, along with the Honorary Treasurer, Prof Hakeem Syed Zillur Rahman, presented bouquets to Prof Haseeb.
Finance Officer Prof S M Jawed Akhtar, Controller of Examination Mr Mujib Ullah Zuberi, Dean Students’ Welfare Prof Mujahid Beg, Proctor Prof Waseem Ali and a number of senior faculty members including Deans, Principals, Directors, Provosts and non-teaching staff were present on this occasion.
