Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Embassy of India, Kathmandu celebrated 73rd Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Foundation Day
Report by Ranjana Niraula, Kathmandu: Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Embassy of India, Kathmandu celebrated 73rd Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Foundation Day on 19th April 2023 at SVCC Hall, Embassy of India, Kathmandu. The event was organized as part of the ongoing celebrations of INDIA@75 Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with an aim to deepen the bonds of friendship among ICCR alumni.
The event was inaugurated by Shri Prasanna Shrivastava, Deputy Chief of Mission. In his inaugural remarks, DCM Shri Prasanna Shrivastava emphasized that the ICCR, through scholarships and fellowships about studying in India, has created a goodwill between people of India and Nepal and further strengthened the friendship shared by the two countries.
A musical performance highlighting different Classical ragas was put together by the teachers and artists of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC) during the event wherein noted musicians / ICCR alumni Dr Hari Prasad Paudyal (Flute) and Mr Yatiraj Adhikari (Violinist) also performed in a juganbandi.
Swami Vivekananda Culture Centre, Kathmandu continues to work towards strengthening the age old cultural relations between India and Nepal.
