Tourism Directorate Jammu organises FAM Tour to Suchetgarh for special delegates of Deaf short film festival held in JU
JAMMU : Under the aegis of Department of Tourism, J&K, Directorate of Tourism, Jammu on Sunday organised a 1 day trip to Suchetgarh Border for delegates attending maiden “Deaf short film festival” held in Jammu University in collaboration with M/s The Association of the Deaf and Aphasic Jammu UT, J&K.
The day-long trip was planned with the objective of providing a recreational activity and providing persons with disabilities with the opportunity and platform to step forward and be a part of an inclusive society.
Around 100 spectators, aged and children were taken to Suchetgarh aboard special buses arranged by Directorate of Tourism Jammu to witness an electrifying parade by BSF.
The boisterous audience before the ceremony visited the Octroi Post to witness the International Border. Later, the delegates danced their hearts out to some foot taping patriotic songs.
When approached by the media, Director Tourism Jammu Vivekanand Rai, said that Suchetgarh in J&K has emerged as a favorite tourist destination among families and friends with retreat ceremonies being organized on every weekends. He thanked the BSF authorities for accepting the collaboration request for these special attendees”.
Joint Director Tourism Jammu, Sunaina Sharma Mehta said that “Jammu is a very safe inclusive and reliable destination for people across all walks of life and social milieu. The purpose of the said picnic was to provide out of home experience visually to dumb and aphasic participants”.
Besides present on the occasion were Senior Officers of BSF, officials of tourism department and other tourists who had gone to visit this historic parade.
