Students and Corporate employees jointly winwin Hexagon’s Hexathon 2023, the 24-hour hackathon focused on solutions for a sustainable planet
Hyderabad : : Hexathon 2023, a 24-hour Hackathon hosted by Hexagon aimed at building sustainable solutions for a better future for the planet, announced Enigma and Strat Masters as the winners today.
Over 1600 teams, including startups, corporations, students, and Hexagon’s own employees, registered for the competition, and 163 of them qualified for the final event on April 29th and 30th. Participants Showcased Innovative Solutions Across 5 Tracks: Sustainable Energy, Environment, Manufacturing, Assets, and Green Tech Disruptors.
The judging panel included Erik Jofesson, President of R-evolution, Hexagon, M. Srinivas Rao, CEO, T-Hub, and Prof Sireesh Saride, Chairperson, Greenko School of Sustainability & Climate Change, IIT Hyderabad.
Enigma, a team of third year engineering students from CBIT, and Strat Masters, from Hexagon, won prizes for their innovative solutions. While Enigma developed an automated system to reduce energy waste, pollution, and waste generation in industrial processes, Strat Masters created a solution to optimize equipment maintenance in a plant.
The judges also announced 5 special recognitions for outstanding projects. These projects tackled various issues, including blockchain-based carbon credit tracking, construction design optimization, AI-driven scrap management for plastic recycling, solar panel power monitoring, and optimized deep learning for defect identification in manufacturing.

The winning teams were determined based on the fundamental criteria that promote sustainability, use of appropriate technology, building scalable and innovative solutions, as well as having financial depth, solving business problems, and hence having commercial viability.
