Monash University announces appointments of Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience) and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching)

Monash University has announced the respective appointments of Professor Sarah McDonald as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience), and Professor Allie Clemans as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching).

Professor McDonald currently holds the position of Academic Director (Student Experience) in the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) and Senior Vice-President, in which she has driven strategic change to elevate the student experience at Monash by promoting inclusivity and innovation to ensure our educational offerings remain agile and student-centred.

As Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience), Professor McDonald will lead the enhancement of the educational journey and experiences for all Monash students through developing and implementing programs that focus on strong, effective collaboration between faculties, portfolios and partners, both within and beyond the University.

In her current role as Academic Director (Learning and Teaching) in the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) and Senior Vice-President, Professor Clemans has successfully led the Monash Education Academy, Education Technology and Education Design and Development teams, and was responsible for providing educational expertise and strategy to promote excellence in learning and teaching at the University.

As Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching), Professor Clemans will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the overall quality of learning and teaching at Monash by leading and supporting teaching and curriculum innovation, the design and delivery of renowned academic professional development programs through the Monash Education Academy, and driving innovation in education technology across the University.
