The friendship between India and Nepal is an example for the world: Prof. Dwivedi
New Delhi: A delegation from the SAARC Journalists’ Forum (SJF), a journalist organisation of SAARC countries, paid a visit to the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) on Thursday. Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Dwivedi, Director General, IIMC, felicitated the delegates by presenting them with mementos and IIMC publications. The event was also attended by SJF President Raju Lama, IIMC Dean (Student Welfare) Prof. Pramod Kumar, Dr. Meeta Ujjain, Dr. Pawan Koundal, and Ankur Vijaivargiya.
Addressing the delegation, Director General of the IIMC, said that India and Nepal have been linked since time immemorial through civilization, culture, and mutual exchange. Journalists play an important role in strengthening ties between India and Nepal. He described Nepal as the companion of India’s happiness and sorrow, and said the friendship between India and Nepal is an example for the rest of the world.
On this occasion, SJF President Raju Lama stated that he is honoured to be invited to the IIMC. Appreciating the Indian Institute of Mass Communication’s efforts in the field of mass communication education and training, he stated that his visit informed him of the innovations taking place in the field of media education.
During their visit, the delegation also visited the library of IIMC and the community radio ‘Apna Radio 96.9 FM’ run by the institute.
