UPMC, HACC Join Hands In Support Of Medical Assisting Certificate Students
Central Pennsylvania residents now have an easier path to pursue a career as a medical assistant (MA) thanks to a partnership between UPMC and HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
Under this partnership, called the UPMC Scholars Program, HACC graduates who fulfill the UPMC work commitment will receive payments equivalent to the cost of the program in addition to their salaries. Students must complete at least two years of the work requirement at UPMC in Central Pa. facilities. UPMC will offer a variety of full- and part-time position options to accommodate student schedules in combination with their studies.
Students can enroll in HACC’s new two semester Medical Assisting Certificate Program which is available at both of the college’s Gettysburg and Harrisburg campuses. Classes will start Aug. 28. The deadline to apply is Aug. 15. The first semester enrollment is limited to 48 students.
