Gujarat becomes the leader in wind energy capacity
Received award for the highest wind capacity addition through open access
New Delhi: – Gujarat has been awarded for achieving the highest wind capacity addition through open asses during FY 2022-23 during the celebration of Global Wind Day organized by Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government of India in New Delhi. This achievement has pushed the long-time leader Tamil Nadu to the second spot and made Gujarat the No.1 State in installed wind power capacity. In the area of Southern coast line & in the northern part of the state with adjoining border of the MP and Rajasthan, the state is having a wind ‘gold mine’. The total Wind Power Generation Potential is estimated around 142.56GW by MNRE, which is highest in the country.
