Zhejiang University delegation visit Dutch and French universities
On May 7-13, a delegation of Zhejiang University paid a visit to Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in the Netherlands, Université Paris-Saclay and Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) in France to promote cooperation in talent cultivation and scientific research.
On May 8, the delegation visited TU/e and was warmly received. Directors of the Joint Research Institute of Design, Optoelectronic and Sensing (IDEAS), Eindhoven Institute for Renewable Energy Systems (EIRES), The Gate (a TU/e-based plaform for tech startups) and TU/e Innovation Space introduced the efforts and achievements that TU/e made in talent culvitation, research, innovation and entrepreneurship. The two universities reached a consensus on joint graduate programs andcooperative conferences in the fields of energy engineering, industrial design and optical engineering.
During their stay in France, the delegation visited Université Paris-Saclay and IP Paris. At Université Paris-Saclay, Vice President for International Relations Sandrine Lacombe met with the delegation. The two universities exchanged ideas on potential cooperation in information science, electronic engineering and energy engineering.
Following the visit of the Vice President of IP Paris to ZJU in April, the ZJU delegation paid a return visit on May 10th. They had a dialogue with those in charge of the International Affairs Office, the Mechanics and Energy Department, and the Communication and Electronics Department. The discussions resulted in an intention to explore cooperation in areas such as climate change, sustainable energy, health sciences, and basic sciences.
While in the Netherlands, the delegation also had a meeting with ZJU alumni and visited ASML, an innovative leader in the semiconductor industry. In Paris, they visited China’s Permanent Delegate to UNESCO and explored the possibility of cooperating with each other in sustainable education, internship, and personnel.
