University of Bath invites applications for MSc Sport Management course
The University of Bath has opened its applications for MSc Sport Management course for the academic year 2023-24, which has been co-developed by itsDepartment for Health and School of Management.
This course is specially curated for recent graduates of sport or management-related undergraduate degrees as well as those currently working within the sport, exercise, or health industries. It provides a good opportunity for students who seek to study research methods and business management as well as sports marketing, leadership, and athlete management at national and international levels.
Application Deadline: 30th June, 2023
The session will commence from October 2023 and the application deadline for the course is 30th June 2023. Online applications for courses starting in 2024 will open in early September.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates should typically have a Bachelor degree with a final overall result of at least First Class. However, due to the number of different grading scales in use, candidates should upload a copy of the grading scale used by their institution, along with their transcript, when they submit their application. Applicants will be required to submit a personal statement with details about the relevance of their academic qualification with the course, why they want to pursue the course and outlines about their future aspirations. The language requirements will be a minimum of either a 7.0 IELTS score with no less than 6.5 in all components, a Pearson Test of English Academic – 69 with no less than 62 in any element or a TOEFL IBT – 100 overall with a minimum of 24 in all 4 components.

The University’s reputation for excellence in sport extends to its research, 98% of its submitted research activity for Sport & Exercise Sciences, Leisure & Tourism was rated world-leading or internationally excellent in the Research Excellence Framework 2021.
Students on this course can complete the ‘Practice Track’, a consultancy or research-based project with an external organization, as an optional alternative to a dissertation. Classes are delivered by academics, with the addition of occasional guest lectures and talks from industry professionals in the sport or management sectors. Additionally, all University of Bath students can register for a free Sports Pass to access some of sports facilities at the £35 million Sports Training Village (STV). This world-class venue hosts over 50 sports and is used by students, the public, over 250 international level athletes and more than 20 regional or national sport teams.
The MSc Sport Management graduates are well-placed to pursue roles in sports development, sports marketing, sports administration, event management, sports consultancy and entrepreneurship.
