UC appoints new director of Continuing Education
A business engineer from the University of Chile and a PhD in Economics from the University of Georgia (USA), the academic will hold the position of director of this unit, which has more than 1,500 programs to its credit.

PhD in Economics from the University of Georgia (USA) and business engineer and economist from the University of Chile, Claudia Halabí Kanacri , an academic from the School of Engineering, is the new director of the UC Continuing Education Department.
Before coming to UC in 2015, Halabí was director of Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the Diego Portales University and a professor at the University of Chile in the area of Industrial Organization and Strategy. After that, she came to our campus as the director of UC Engineering Professional Education.
“(This appointment) has been a surprise for me and a gratifying recognition from the university towards the work we have done in Engineering in the area”, he maintains and adds: “I am tremendously grateful for the trust they have placed in me to continue advancing in the important path of this direction, as well as to the School of Engineering that gave me the opportunity to learn so much. I know that it will not be easy, since it is a big direction and with some complexities. But for me it is a privilege to be able to contribute a grain of sand to this great institution that is the Catholic University”.
