IIM Jammu performs the “Havan Ceremony” to commence the new academic session from its Permanent Campus at Jagti
Jammu: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu performed a “Havan Ceremony” to commence the start of the academic session from its state-of-the-art permanent campus at Jagti, Jammu. The “Havan Ceremony” was graced by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, Cmdr Kesavan Baskkaran, (R), Chief Administrative Officer, faculty, officers, staff members and students of IIM Jammu.
The “Havan Ceremony” was performed by the priests from the Lord Balaji Temple, Jammu. The Institute will also be holding a holistic 5-day Orientation Program for the 4th Batch of Ph.D. (2023-26), 8th Batch of MBA (2023-25), the 3rd Batch of EMBA (2023-25), and the 2nd Batch of MBA (HA&HM) (2023-25) from 24th July to 31st July 2023 at its state-of-the-art permanent campus at Jagti, Jammu.
Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, mentioned “Havan” is the best way to start the new academic session, as “Havan Yajnas” are the symbol of hope and optimism. The spiritual ceremony was performed at IIM Jammu, a state-of-the-art permanent campus at Jagti for seeking blessings from the almighty for the commencement of its academic session. He added that performing “Havan” in the Institute before the commencement of the academic session creates a positive and auspicious atmosphere. He expressed his happiness and conveyed his good wishes for moving from Transit Campus to the State-of-the-Art Permanent Campus at Jagti.
Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu mentioned that the beginning of a new session is always an auspicious time. On the momentous occasion, he wished good luck to all the students and the entire IIM Jammu fraternity.
On the auspicious occasion, Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu served food to all the construction manpower working on the permanent campus construction site at Jagti. All the faculty, officers, and staff members marked their presence and prayed to the Almighty for the smooth functioning of the Institute. The “Havan Ceremony” was followed by the chanting of the mantras. Further, all the IIM Jammu fraternity offered their best wishes to each other, and in the end, prasad was distributed to all followed by lunch.
