Ural Federal University gets positive interest from Belarusian Universities

During the days of the International Industrial Exhibition “Innoprom” the Ural Federal University was visited by a delegation of representatives of Belarusian educational and scientific organizations – the Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University, the Belarusian State University “Research Institute of Physical and Chemical Problems”, the A.N. Sevchenko Scientific-Research Institute for Applied Physical Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The key topics of the discussions were the possible directions of joint scientific research, publications, experience of cooperation with industry, and the development of young scientists.

“The meeting was held in a constructive business format,” said Oksana Golubeva, First Vice-Rector of the Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University. – Agreements were reached on joint scientific research in the field of studying anti-corrosion properties of oil additives. The possibilities of joint participation as part of the “Priority-2030″ program were considered. Projects for joint implementation in the field of automation of industrial processes, creation of digital doubles of production processes, VR-content for training of technical staff implementing certain technological regulations on the basis of the advanced engineering school of UrFU were also outlined.”

In turn, Vitaly Zalessky, Director of the Physico-Technical University of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, emphasized that UrFU meets all his expectations for cooperation both in terms of topics and focus on the final result, whether it is a product or a prototype for specific consumers.

Mikhail Heifets, Director of the Institute of Applied Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, was also satisfied with the meeting and expressed confidence in future constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation.

“Even more interesting is the availability of mechanisms, including financial ones, to implement these projects through funds or directly with factories. For us, UrFU is of great interest as a platform for active and productive contacts with the region’s enterprises, mainly machine-building enterprises, for which the tasks of increasing the service life of products, new materials and technologies are relevant,” Zalessky said.

Mikhail Heifets, Director of the Institute of Applied Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, was also satisfied with the meeting and expressed confidence in future constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation.

“It was very pleasant and useful to visit such a dynamically developing university with deep traditions,” Heifetz emphasized. – We are interested in joint scientific research in the field of materials science, materials processing technology and product manufacturing.”
